Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a few days off and some time with family and friends, as I did. Now, back to Vanilla Fringe (yay). I have organized my closet and life a bit and am back to blogging, thank goodness, and hope to not be taking any more week-long hiatus’ for a while. These Missoni-esque pants are one of my favorite Christmas gifts I opened over the weekend. I love the color palette, boho-style, and I paired them with my favorite grey PLV platform booties, a cool pendant, and a knit sweater. Come spring, I know I’ll bust these out with a tank, long vest, and cool wedges.
I hadn’t realized how long it had been since I did an outfit post until I went out into the cold over the weekend with the camera and tried to look casual on the corner. Haha. I’m sorry. My life has been a bit cra (cue Kanye West) over the past month or so. And with this crazy schedule, I have really neglected my closet until this striped Bailey blazer arrived at my doorstep a couple weeks ago. While I adore an all-black ensemble here and/or there, I really am more of a warm tone girl at heart, and this blazer mixed the best of both. Slap on a House of Harlow staple and a little Prada Candy, and there we go!
Last week my mom came down to help my roomies and I decorate our tree and make dinner. Now, as I have mentioned a few times, her decorations are on another level. She brought much more than just ornaments, and you will see below, the ending result (we all agreed) looked like it belonged in a Macy’s window. On top of decorating the tree, my mother also instructed us youngin's on how to make the perfect meat and cheese tray. I'm sharing the knowledge. Who’s having a holiday party? Help is here!
Raspberry Brie Croissant: Wrap a block of Brie cheese topped in raspberry preserves in a puff pastry. Bake in the oven (350 degrees) until golden brown (about 20 minutes). Serve with crackers or bread. (pictures above)
Caprese Sticks: On skewers or toothpicks, stack cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and fresh basil. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
For your traveling, trendy friend:
An adorable holder for all your chargers: cell phone, iPod cord, headphones, computer jack, flip cam…convenient, affordable, and much more organized.
Marc Jacobs Hot Dot Scarf: Wear this year round with just about anything. I love the lightweight look, but the bulky material. Polka dots are so hot right now, and this scarf would be the perfect gift for that special chic girl in your life…be it a best friend, sister, or trendy momma. (you had to get it from someone, right?)
Urban Outfitters Infinity Scarf: Running out the door? These infinity scarves are the easiest and warmest way to just toss on an extra layer this winter. Gals of all ages would love this accessory.
House of Harlow Chelsea Glasses: First of all, any girl would love a pair of House of Harlow glasses. The starlets have made these a Hollywood staple, and the cat-eye frame looks great on any face shape.
Go Go Gadgets:
Tory Burch iPhone Case: I am buying this for myself if no one buys it for me, that’s how much I love it.
Leopard Roller Skates: Be sporty, in shape, and trendy all at once. I can see it now…sun is shining, cut-offs are on, and I’m rollerskating along the lake. Yippee!
Ray Ban Aviators: Everyone and their brother (literally) looks amazing in these. An easy gift everyone would love.
Marc Jacobs iPad Case: Snake print and neon? Sign me up. The perfect accessory for your techy iPad.
For Mom and Dad:
Vanilla Infusion Kit: Use this super cute bottle and vanilla to make your own homemade vanilla extract (you could prob toss a little cinnamon in there for extra flavor)
Elephant Salt and Pepper Shakers: These are adorable, and unfortunately, I cannot find the exact link for them. But these are just as cute and actually cheaper!
Whiskey Stones: These stones go into premium liquor and don’t dilute. The perfect addition to the bar.
For your chic, older sister:
Velvet platforms from TOPSHOP: Obsessed with fabulous silky bow and gorgeous red color. Perfect for the holidays, or, hello, Valentines Day!
Rachel Zoe Tie Front Blouse: I wore tie-front blouses here and here, and have worn them a million times in between. It is just so easy to throw on with a pencil skirt, fur vest, jeans, whatever!! This nude color is perfect for all seasons. DIE!
Gold and Velvet Flats: Working girls need chic alternatives to heels, or any girl with a place to be - (cue my roomies telling me to stop complaining about my legs hurting when I walk to/from the train in platforms). These are dressy, bold and comfortable.
Put Extras On It:
Sam Edelman Spike Flats: I LOVE these. Season-less, comfortable, and cool.
Michael Kors Chain Necklace: Aren’t you always looking for a basic but chic necklace to throw on every day? Here it is! I love the chunky links and plated gold.
TOPSHOP Pussybow collar: This is for the fashionista who likes to spice up her everyday drobe (short for wardrobe, I’m going to start using it). Throw this over a white-collared blouse; adorable.
Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Coffee Table Book: Another piece any lovely lady would love. No brainer here.
