Stops Along the Way

Here’s a few more pictures from my weekend in Cali. If you plan to visit anytime soon, save these hot spots.

Breakfast at The Cottage in La Jolla, complete with blueberry-granola pancakes, eggs, and cinnamon French toast. Get there; it’s delicious.

Quick stop at Surfin Donuts in San Clemente on our way to Venice Beach.

Dinner at The Tavern in Coronado. We loved the teal tables, mason jar glasses, and old windowpane menu display.;  a low-key spot with great food and drinks.

Hanging at the Beach in San Diego (oh, water and sunshine; things I hadn’t seen in awhile).

Sunday treats from the Farmer’s Market in La Jolla, which included my favorite thing ever, Mexican Mangos.

Fresh Fringe Chicago – Nellcote

In an attempt to try every new hot spot in town, I have to say, Melissa and I are actually succeeding. Nellcote is a swanky, new, small plate restaurant complete with cool chandeliers, a bright orange bar, and exposed cement. I especially liked it because we didn’t feel like we were eating on top of one another; we opted to sit above the bar (must go to see what I mean) and were able to see almost the entire room, including the lavender wall (pic below). The food was delicious, and between you and I, the prices were not bad at all; well, okay, no need to keep that between you and I. Oh, and my favorite part (this might seem weird) were the bathrooms! Melissa and I were snapping photos of the feminine wallpaper and elegant sink. This is the kind of place you can bring your friends, significant other, and parents…everyone will love it!

Turks and Caicos – Providenciales

My Grandma B (who I mentioned here) has been traveling to the Turks & Caicos since I was a little girl. She used to spend half of the year in Wisconsin (near here) and half of the year on the island of Providenciales (amazing, I know). When she passed away over a year ago, she left behind lots of lasting memories and her beachfront condo, which was her place to soak in rays, read, and drink cocktails named the “brown lady” (it is now a menu staple – as you can see above). I honestly did not go anywhere on the island without someone mentioning her name and what a nice person she was, and I miss her more and more every day. This was my first trip without her, and while I spent many minutes of the trip thinking about her, I know why she called it home; the locals are genuinely nice, the food is fantastic, and the view from her condo literally defines the word “paradise.” I would recommend this hot spot to anyone! See my favorite moments from our trip below!

Shots of the Ocean Club, aqua water, and white sand.

Villa Fringe

Wearing: Wildfox Hooded Poncho, Maybelline Coral Crush Lipstick, Ralph Lauren Sunglasses as seen here, L*Space Bathing Suit as seen here, Beaded Cuff Bracelet as seen here, Sandy Feet, Essie Cute as a Button Nail Polish.

More beach looks from my trip…I snagged this Wildfox fringe, hooded poncho from Sofias right before I left and wore it a million times to and from the pool, up to the cabana bar, and on our daily sand strolls up and down the beach. During one of these routine beach walks, we stumbled upon this gorgeous mini-mansion we were pretty positive a celebrity resides in or Chris Harrison has inquired for the next bachelor contestants to stay at. Either way, we scoped it out, took some photos, and swore to start saving our paychecks to be able to stay in this luxurious villa on our next trip to T&C. Hey, a girl’s gotta dream, right?
