Colorful Booze Block

by Shae

1

My auntie out in AZ had a grad party for my little cousin a few weeks ago, and I saw this adorable decoration/brilliant idea in one of her pictures and just had to share. This is not only a perfect way to decorate and entertain, but would also make for a perfect house-warming gift. The great thing about this is that you can use different decorative pieces depending on your color scheme or party theme. See below for instructions...

vodka

Ingredients:

Vodka or booze bottle of your choice

Empty cardboard carton

Water (easy enough)

Decorative items such as fruit, flat flowers, mint, ect.

ingredients

Directions:

Empty the cardboard carton and cut off the top.

Place the bottle of booze inside the carton and fill the carton half full with water.

Push items into the sides surrounding the bottle and underneath the water.

Freeze for about 6 hours or until completely frozen.

Fill up the remainder of the carton with water and add alternating decorative pieces.

Freeze for another 6-8 hours or until completely frozen.

Remove and cut or rip off cardboard around the ice.

Place a napkin around or underneath the frozen bottle to catch water as it melts.

Serve!

What a simple, gorgeous way to entertain! Now if only my studio apartment had a "real fridge" we just have a mini one now with no freezer :( Guess I'll have to save this idea for later...

Thanks! You could do this with mini booze bottles as well...like little ice cubes. That would be really cute as well.

Does the booze bottle come out pretty easy after it starts to warm up?

Yes, it needs to melt for a bit and then you should be able to twist it out. If you want to keep the ice around it, just stick it back in the freezer and whatever hasn't melted will stay as a block until the next time you want to use.
